Still under construction?
Fri/May/2009 03:52 PM
One of the things I struggle to accept in life is
that nothing is ever quite finished.
I can usually keep frustration at bay if I can make a conscious decision to enjoy the process not just the "product"
If I become too preoccupied with the finished product then my joy will always be elusive!
Joan & I have discovered this fact afresh during our recent renovation! We have finished (well almost) and two things are apparent:
1. The doing of it was more fun than I realised and I miss it!
2. While enjoying the finished product we are already considering what the next project could be!
I think this is what Jesus had in mind when he said, "I will build my church..."
One day there will be a finished product but in the meantime every person (and every church) is "under construction".
Rather than being frustrated about what is not yet there I think God would like us to rejoice in every step that is taken.
Please, Lord help me to enjoy the process of life. Amen!
